Last updated: April 24, 2026
This Privacy Policy describes how Billr ("we", "us", or "our") collects, uses, and shares information when you use the Billr website, mobile apps, and related services (the "Service"). By using the Service you agree to the collection and use of information in accordance with this policy.
1. Information we collect
We collect the following categories of information:
- Account information: name, email address, password hash, business name, and phone number when you create an account.
- Business data: invoices, clients, projects, time entries, and related content you create inside the app.
- Payment information: when you enable online payments we use Stripe and PayPal; we do not store full card numbers on our servers.
- Usage data: device type, operating system, app version, IP address, and in-app actions used to diagnose crashes and improve the product.
2. How we use information
We use the information we collect to provide, maintain, and improve the Service, to process payments, to send transactional emails (invoice receipts, password resets, service notices), and to respond to support requests. We do not sell your personal information.
3. Sharing and disclosure
We share information only with:
- Service providers that help us run the Service (hosting, email delivery, payment processing, error monitoring);
- Authorities when required by law or to protect the rights, safety, or property of Billr, our users, or the public;
- A successor entity in the event of a merger, acquisition, or asset sale.
4. Data retention
We retain your account data for as long as your account is active. When you delete your account we remove your personal information within 30 days, except where we are required to retain it for legal, tax, or accounting purposes.
5. Your rights
Depending on your jurisdiction you may have the right to access, correct, export, or delete your personal information, and to object to or restrict certain processing. You can exercise most of these rights from inside the app or by emailing privacy@billr.cloud.
6. Security
We use industry-standard encryption in transit (TLS) and at rest, and we follow reasonable administrative and technical safeguards. No system is perfectly secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.
7. International transfers
Billr is operated from the European Union. If you access the Service from outside the EU, your data will be transferred to, stored, and processed in the EU.
8. Children
The Service is not directed at children under 16, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
9. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. We will post the updated version on this page and update the "Last updated" date. Material changes will be announced by email or in-app notice.
